Bon Jovi is a popular American rock band. They have been making music since 1983. Their first album, “Bon Jovi”, was released in 1984. It has become a major hit. Over the course of its career, Bon Jovi has sold over 130 million records worldwide. The group’s popularity has continued in the 21st century. In fact, in 2017, Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
After Bon Jovi’s first album was released, the group toured heavily and recorded numerous albums. This period of success helped the band earn numerous Grammy nominations, and the band was awarded with a BRIT award for their work. During this time, Jon Bon Jovi also released two successful solo albums.
Following his initial stint as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the band, Jon Bon Jovi went on to compose songs for various films. He also toured and campaigned for presidential candidates in the U.S., including John Kerry and Barack Obama. His songs, including “We Weren’t Born To Follow,” were nominated for a Grammy Award for best pop performance.
After the release of their fifth album, Keep the Faith, Bon Jovi’s sound was altered. The band was more serious and incorporated more lyrics. Among the highlights of the album was the song “Bed of Roses,” which is an adult contemporary ballad that was a hit on the charts. Also, the group performed “America the Beautiful” for the NFL.
In addition to the studio albums, Bon Jovi also made several live recordings. They filmed their shows, and their live album, One Wild Night Live 1985-2001, was a hit. Moreover, the band’s homecoming concerts became a sensation. These concerts broke VH-1 ratings records. For these reasons, the band received the “Hottest Live Show” award at the 2001 My VH1 Music Awards.
In the early 2000s, the band toured in Japan and Europe. During this time, they recorded several singles. Some of the hits that the group recorded include “We Are Young,” “This Ain’t a Love Song,” “Runaway,” and “Unbroken.” As a result, the band’s popularity continued into the 21st century.
The band’s most successful album to date is Slippery When Wet, released in 1986. The album sold over 19 million copies in the United States. This spawned three top-ten hits for the group, including the song “We Will Always Be Together,” which has been covered by many other artists. Other popular songs from the album include “Always” and “Cross Road.”
Bon Jovi’s career spanned over two decades, with their first three albums achieving moderate success. However, the band’s third record, Slippery When Wet, catapulted them into international fame and success. During this time, the band toured extensively, selling out three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June 1995.
Despite the band’s success, Richie Sambora left the group in 2013. The band eventually reunited with Sambora for the 2002 album Bounce, but he left again in 2013 for personal reasons. Though the band has regrouped in the recent past, the members have been pursuing solo projects.
