If you’re a fan of rock music and have never seen Bon Jovi in concert then you have been missing out on one of the greatest concerts of all time. This band was formed in 1983 and has made quite a name for themselves over the years. Their songs are classics that everyone, young and old, can’t help but recognise and enjoy.
They are renowned for their glam metal style and anthemic ballads. They have a loyal following of fans worldwide and their shows are legendary. The acoustics in the arenas they play at are unrivalled. The crowd is always huge and the atmosphere is electric. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and watch some talented musicians performing on stage.
Seeing the iconic band live in a stadium full of thousands of fans is an unforgettable experience. The music is just as good as on the records and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to the 80s. It’s a must-see for all rock music lovers.
The band is a consummate arena-rock juggernaut and lead singer Jon Bon Jovi still has a huge voice. He can’t quite reach the high notes he used to but he is an expert showman and his energy is infectious. During the two-hour show, he kept the audience entertained and engaged with his charismatic presence and incredible Mick Jagger-like crowd control. The other members of the band, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarists John Shanks and Phil X, bassist Hugh McDonald and percussionist Everett Bradley all deliver superb performances.
It was a brilliant night and Wembley was completely sold out. I had great seats in the upper tier, right in the centre and could see everything from up close. The lighting was excellent, the sound was very clear and it just felt like the whole venue was a party.
The first act of the night was Van Halen. They opened with a double whammy of ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ and ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’. They looked as though they were having a blast on stage and it was obvious from the look in their eyes that the audience loved it too. It’s not often that you see Van Halen play support but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of the genre.
The band finished with a big encore of ’Living on a Prayer’ and ’We Built This City’. It was a fantastic way to end the show and it was clear from the applause that the crowd enjoyed it too. I really hope they tour again in the future as they’re a great live band.
