Jon Bon Jovi

The high-energy, internationally popular rock band Bon Jovi has always had its fair share of sex, drugs and women problems but their sound and songcraft have consistently put them on the top of the charts. In addition to a successful music career, Jon Bon Jovi is also involved in numerous philanthropic causes and has founded the Bon Jovi Soul Foundation which helps fund innovative community efforts to break the cycle of poverty.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Bon Jovi is still going strong with their eponymous band and he has also released two solo albums to date. Originally from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Jon Bon Jovi has been married twice and has four children. His first marriage was to his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley, a karate instructor, and they have been together since 1989. Jon is also the founder of The Bon Jovi Soul Foundation which was established in 2006 and focuses on empowering youth to combat issues that force families into economic despair.

After achieving some modest success in the early ’80s, Bon Jovi went big with their third album, Slippery When Wet, which saw them rocket to worldwide superstardom. This is largely thanks to the lead single, You Give Love A Bad Name which was co-written by band members Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora with Desmond Child. It’s a stomping rocker that can be heard everywhere and works well on any dance floor.

Despite the slew of hits, Bon Jovi continued to tour non-stop throughout the ’80s and early ’90s. It wasn’t until 1992 that the band took a slight breather, but when they came back with Keep The Faith it proved to be a massive hit. It’s a darker, heavier track with plenty of guitar riffs and solos that showcases their talent and helped them re-establish themselves as a powerhouse rock act.

While their music has been a driving force in their careers, it wasn’t until the 2000s that Bon Jovi started to branch out into acting. They have appeared in a range of TV shows including Sex and the City, Ally McBeal and 30 Rock. The band has also appeared in a few movies including Moonlight and Valentino, Little City, Homegrown and U-571.

Jon Bon Jovi is a solidly American rock icon and one of the most successful band members in history. His soaring vocal range and All-American sound has captivated audiences around the world and helped them sell over 120 million albums. In addition to his successful musical career, he is a philanthropist who has donated over $10 million to Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network and is the founder of The Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. He is also a co-founder and majority owner of the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul and has also campaigned for various political candidates including Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. Jon has also starred in a number of movies and has won numerous awards for his acting and songwriting.
